First Presbyterian Church of Wayne, Nebraska
Our chief end is to glorify and enjoy God forever.

Women's Ministries

FPC offers various opportunities for women to get involved as they grow in faith.

Presbyterian Women:

Our Presbyterian Women's group is an active, vibrant bunch of disciples who serve the church faithfully in many ways.  They meet on the first Wednesday of the month (during the school year) from 6:30-8:00 p.m. for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship, followed by a brief business meeting.

The PW Purpose:

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:

  • to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
  • to support the mission of the church worldwide,
  • to work for justice and peace,
  • and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom.

Sewing Souls:

Sewing Souls gathers on the third Wednesday of the month (during the school year) from 6:30-8:00 p.m. to work on various quilting and sewing projects that benefit the church.  In recent years they have sewn curtains, paraments/vestments, and activity bags for children during worship.  Many of their pieces are donated to the Calvin Crest Quilt Auction, a major fundraiser for our camp, conference, and retreat center.

Wayne Area Moms' Group: (formerly a MOPS group)

The Moms' Group meets occasionally for support, fellowship, and fun.  Contact the church office (375-2669) for more details of their activities.
